This print seems like a departure for me; but years ago I focused on scenes here in Hamburg.
I see these images daily.

I have had this idea for some time now. I wanted to make a print of our neighborhood in winter, in the dark. Lighted windows at night have always fascinated me and the sunsets in the western sky can be so dramatic.
Lake Erie is just about 4 or 5 miles due west from here. I think that the lake makes the sunsets
even more luminous.
The bare branches, the parked car and the upper windows all seem to catch the reflected light.

Maple Avenue Sunset, 2010, 61/2" x 10"
