"Rose of Sharon"

6 1/4" x 81/2" on white Stonehenge paper,
Edition of 25 - 2011 - $100

I love these large, luscious blossoms that bloom
in my backyard in the later part of the summer.

Many years ago, a neighbor gave me some of these as small tree-like plants. They quickly spread all over the yard and into the yards next door.
They can be white, lavender or my favorite which is the color of raspberry sherbet with dark
magenta centers and buds.

When I was working on this print, I was grateful to be transported back to the heat, smells and colors of August - not a bad place to be during this long, cold winter.
