2012 SCREEN PRINTING CLASSES with Dorothy Markert 

Screen Printing Class at the Centennial Art Center of Hamburg with Dorothy Markert
Six Sunday afternoons, 12 – 4 February 5, 12, 19, 26 and March 4 & 11
Students will receive individualized help with their projects. They will bring their own supplies.

One or two new screen printers will be accepted in this class. They will be sent a list of materials and tools as well as suggestions for projects.

During the classes the new students will have the opportunity to see the process and get ideas from the others.
Each week a different process will be covered, students will have an opportunity to make photographic screens, simple one color prints,
multicolor reduction prints, textile printing, multicolor prints with more than one screen and prints made from crayola rubbings.

In this class I intend to demonstrate the photographic process early on (probably the second week). Then I will show how to make a multicolor print
from the photo print, using two screens hinged to the same base. This process has been explained in detail in my blog. Go to the post from Sept. 3, 2011.

Six Sunday afternoons, 12 noon to 4 PM. - the sixth class will be held in my home - it will be a "show and tell" of what we have accomplished.

The class will be limited to 8 students. The first eight who send their registration checks to Dorothy Markert, 253 Maple Ave., Hamburg, NY, 14075.

 _{I am often available to work with one or two new students at my home in Hamburg, NY.
A simple introduction to my method of screen printing would take about 4 - 5 hours.
I charge $75 for this.
The student will be able to make a complete print by working along as I demonstrate.
All materials will be provided as well as a manual listing the supplies and complete directions.
I will also work with continuing students at a lesser rate.
