For many years now, I have been intrigued by the pottery of Clarice Cliff.
I have been making prints inspired by her wonderful creations.

Bizarre Bouquet

 

The designs in this print were taken directly from the Clarice Cliff originals. The large flowers with the speckled centers are from "Latona Eden", the others are "Nuage Bouquet" and in the lower corners "Moselle" . The plate is "Honolulu" and the vase "Orange Roof Cottage".
18" x 16" on white Stonehenge 100% rag paper, 2009  $175edition of 15

Clarice Cliff  1899 - 1972

Clarice Cliff is one of the most famous designers of the inter-war period due to her bold colorful patterns on unusual shapes.

Her pioneering ideas influenced her contemporaries and continue to be well-loved.
